Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pocket size speaker with a big voice This little speaker sounds amazing. It’s dust proof and waterproof, floats and I like the hard wearing rubber finish as it’s so easy to wipe clean and keep the speaker looking pristine. I found it small and light enough to easily carry in my coat or hoodie pockets. Given its small size I was impressed at how punchy the base is topped with a really balanced sound overall. By itself I’ve used the Flex gen 2 more as a personal speaker rather than in a group setting and rarely feel the need to turn it above 50%. I’m not sure this speaker could hold down a party by itself but this is where the “party mode” function comes into its own turning your portable speakers into a system. If you own another Soundlink speaker like the Max or another Flex they can be linked with a simple button press. Both speakers then auto sync the audio together. I can’t stress enough just how well they compliment each other. A Soundlink Max and a Flex gen2 paired together in party mode took my audio experience to the next level. Everything about this robust little speaker from the high quality, hard wearing materials to the crisp, clean sound it produces screams of the premium Bose quality we have all come to expect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Portable Speaker This speaker is exceptional for its size, with great bass and connectivity with other soundlink products. Connecting it with devices has been a breeze, not to mention the great stereo experience provided by pairing it another Soundlink Flex. The product itself is really durable, light and can fit into any bagpack. Would recomend this for anyone who's priority is portability and achieve great sound.

FAQs

What is multipoint connectivity?

Multipoint is a Bluetooth technology that allows your SoundLink Flex (2nd Gen) to maintain a connection to two paired source devices at the same time. Your speaker will seamlessly transition between the two devices, so you’re always connected to the active source device.

What are shortcuts?

Shortcuts allow you to configure settings for the programmable shortcut button on SoundLink Flex (2nd Gen). You can manage your shortcut in the Bose app. Out of the box, the factory default shortcut is set to linking, allowing you to use the button to link two compatible Bose speakers without the app.

What options do I have for my programmable shortcuts?

You can change your shortcut button to be connected to your Spotify account to begin music at the press of a button, access your Voice Assistant, or other options that may become available with future firmware updates through the Bose app.

Can I use SoundLink Flex (2nd Gen) to connect to a Bose smart soundbar or speaker?

Yes. Using Bose SimpleSync technology, you can connect to your SoundLink Flex (2nd Gen) from a SimpleSync-enabled Bose smart soundbar or Bose smart speaker to extend the reach of your listening to other places in the vicinity, such as an adjacent room. You can manage SimpleSync in the Bose app.

Can SoundLink Flex (2nd Gen) be used for phone calls?

Yes, when there is an incoming call, pressing the play/pause button will answer the call, and double pressing the play/pause button will decline a call. Double press the play/pause button while in a call to end it.

Does SoundLink Flex (2nd Gen) float in water?

Yes, SoundLink Flex (2nd Gen) floats, but is not designed to be used while in water. SoundLink Flex (2nd Gen) is designed to withstand accidental drops in water for up to 30 minutes.
