Storing a CD

On the Media Centre control panel, press EJECT to open the disc tray.

Place the CD into the disc tray, with the label facing up.

Press EJECT again to close the tray.

Press STORE to begin the encoding process. "CD storing" appears on the display with a task bar showing the percentage of completion. To interrupt storing activity at any time, open the disc tray. To resume storing the same disc, close the tray and press STORE.

When the task bar reaches 100%, "Audio CD Stored" displays. Remove the disc.

Repeat steps 1 through to 4 for other CDs. Up to ten CDs can be stored in one session. The storing process takes about five minutes per disc.

Storing suggestions

  • After storing CDs, turn the system off (do not disconnect power). The encoding process, performed with the system off, takes about one hour per disc. The system makes a clicking sound during the encoding process. The clicking continues until the encoding process is finished
  • If you are not sure if someone has stored CDs recently, turn the system off (do not unplug it) and see if it makes that clicking sound that indicates encoding in process
  • If you have not recently stored CDs and the system displays "Busy Processing" or "Busy Storing," be sure that you have not unplugged the system or disconnected it from power. This could happen by turning off a wall switch that controls a power outlet. Unplugging or disconnecting the system from power interrupts the processing. If this has happened, the "Busy Processing" or "Busy Storing" messages will reappear when you try to store a new CD
