Cannot adjust the volume of your own voice in the headset when connected to an intercom

The level of your own voice heard through the headphones is known as sidetone. If you're unable to adjust this level while your Bose aviation headset is connected to an aircraft communication system, try the following:

When connected to an intercom, the sound of your voice through your headset is controlled by the intercom.

If your headset is not connected to an intercom, your headset control module generates sidetone (the sound of your voice heard through the headset). The sidetone level is adjustable using the volume knobs on your product.

However, if headset is connected to an intercom, the intercom generates sidetone and the sidetone level is controlled by the intercom—not by the volume knobs on your product. This is a fail safe in the event of an issue with your headset. This way, sidetone will still be heard as long as the intercom is connected and functioning properly.
